Edo State government has announced the postponement of the resumption date for all public and private schools, originally slated for Monday, 9th September 2024.
This decision, communicated through an official statement from the Edo State Ministry of Education, is a response to the escalating tensions linked to the recent spike in fuel prices and the consequent challenges faced by parents and guardians.
The government has emphasized the need for caution during this sensitive period, urging all parents, guardians, and caregivers to closely monitor the activities of their children and wards. It is crucial that families remain vigilant, especially in light of the rising tensions resulting from the fuel price hike.
Ojo Akin-Longe, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, stated, “Schools will remain closed until further notice.”
This announcement highlights the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of students amid the current socio-economic challenges.
