Dr. Tola Salau, Special Adviser to the Kwara State Government on Education, made waves at the prestigious Annual International Manufacturing Convention & Exhibition (IMCE III – 2024). Held under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the event brought together global leaders to explore innovation, technology, and strategic partnerships shaping the future of manufacturing and sustainable development.
Representing Nigeria, Dr. Salau highlighted the transformative strides made in Kwara State through flagship programs like STEAMUP Kwara, which has already equipped 5,000 students and 100 educators with STEM skills, and Skill Up Kwara, an ambitious initiative targeting the upskilling of 50,000 youths by 2027.
“These initiatives not only align with the vision of fostering entrepreneurship but also integrate cutting-edge solutions like AI, robotics, and sustainability into education and industrial development,” Dr. Salau said.
She described the summit as a critical platform for exchanging ideas and forging collaborations that could redefine Africa’s economic trajectory. “The future of Africa’s economy depends on our ability to integrate innovation into education and manufacturing. Platforms like IMCE allow us to connect, learn, and leave a lasting impact.”
The conference underscored the importance of leveraging technology to drive industrial growth, with Dr. Salau’s contributions showcasing Kwara State as a model for youth empowerment and sustainable innovation in Africa.
