The Delta State government has officially transferred 215 hectares of land to the Federal Government for the establishment of the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences in Kwale.

The handover took place on Thursday in Asaba, with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori emphasizing the state’s eagerness to see academic activities commence at the new institution.

Represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyenme, FCA, Governor Oborevwori explained that the allocation comprises 200 hectares designated for the university’s permanent site and an additional 15 hectares for its temporary location.

During the event, the Governor also handed over the General Hospital in Kwale, which will serve as a teaching hospital for the university.

Governor Oborevwori expressed gratitude to the federal government, particularly President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Minister of Education Prof. Tahir Mamman, for selecting Delta State as the host for this Federal University.
