In a bid to prepare teachers for the forthcoming 2023/2024 academic session, the National Coordinator of Concerned Parents and Educators (CPE), a Facebook Educator Community, Kemi Koleowo, has trained educators in Ibadan.

The training, organised by certified coach and trainer, Mrs. Yinka Ogunde, was conducted at St. Annes Nursery/Primary School Molete Ibadan and marked a significant effort to enhance the quality of education in the region.

Kemi Koleowo, a seasoned educator with a wealth of experience, disclosed this via her Facebook page on Monday September 11, 2023.

During the training session, Koleowo served as the main facilitator, working closely with teachers from St. Annes Nursery/Primary School Molete Ibadan, which included teachers from schools 1 and 2 of the institution.

Highlighting the importance of continuous professional development in the teaching profession, Koleowo emphasised, “The importance of training and retraining, learning, unlearning, and relearning cannot be overemphasised if we are to prepare our teachers for the task ahead.”

This statement underscored the commitment of both Koleowo and the CPE to elevate the standards of education.

Throughout the seminar, Koleowo was deeply impressed by the dedication and receptiveness exhibited by the teachers.

She noted, “I was impressed by the attentiveness, concentration, and understanding displayed by the teachers during the entire period of the seminar. A feedback from our interactive session was all needed to know that they have really gained a great deal from all speakers of today.”

In an expression of gratitude, Koleowo acknowledged the support of Dr. Alice Oyerinde for extending the invitation to the seminar.

She also thanked Dr. Dideolu Adekogbe for her unwavering support and encouragement.

Additionally, Mrs. Osho Grace received appreciation for her presence and contribution to the event.

Koleowo extended her appreciation to Venerable Olusegun Faleye, the Vicar of St. Anne’s Anglican Church, Molete, Ibadan (her church), for generously allowing the Concerned Parents and Educators Initiatives group (CPE) to use the church hall for their upcoming “Inspired to Teach” series.

This gesture highlighted the importance of community involvement in educational initiatives.

Concluding her remarks, Koleowo praised the unwavering dedication of Mrs. Yinka Ogunde, the Convener of the CPE group, for consistently prioritising teacher development.

She stressed, “Education is the bedrock of every successful society, so we must all play our parts to change the narratives of the education system in our dear country Nigeria for the better.”

This training session, led by Kemi Koleowo, has undoubtedly set a positive tone for the upcoming academic session in Ibadan, promising improved education and learning outcomes for students in the region.
