CPE calls on Government to ban school homework for babies and children below 5.

A non-governmental organization, the Concerned Parents and Educators, has called on the government to ban schools from giving homework to babies and children below the age of 5.

In a press release, the organization called on the government to examine critically the activities of schools teaching children from age 0-5. These are the formative years and, children should not be compelled to write 1-300 or more at this stage.
Unfortunately, the NGO stated that a lot of schools ignore some of the basic rules of early years education and instead try to force very young children into a mould that may mar them for life.

They, therefore, call on policymakers and regulatory bodies to look into the activities of all schools managing children in the early years.
