Caleb appoints Prof Asikhia Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Renews Prof Daramola’s tenure

Caleb University has confirmed the renewal of the tenure of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC), Prof Adedeji Samuel Daramola, for a second term in office. The Institution has also announced the appointment of Prof. Olalekan Usiobaifo Asikhia, as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Research, Innovation, Strategy and Administration (DVC, RISA).

A statement by Olawale Adekoya, the university’s Information, Media and Publication Specialist, on Sunday, said Prof. Daramola will serve as Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Academics (DVC, Academics), while the newly appointed  Prof Asikhia is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Research, Innovation, Strategy, and Administration.

Prof. Samuel Adedeji Daramola, a recipient of the prestigious World Bank Study Fellowship for multidisciplinary doctoral research in the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom, is the first Professor of Architecture with a specialization in Nomadic Housing in the world.

Prof. Olalekan Asikhia, an erudite Professor, possesses double doctorate and double Masters’ degrees. The new DVC is a University Administrator with outstanding contributions to higher education, not only as an Economist but also as an eminent Business Manager and Strategic Marketer.“

He is principled and renowned for his work ethic. His resume and track record, show a distinguished scholar, an administrator, and a man of character, with a track record in research and education; development and innovation skills, that mirror what Caleb University represents,” the statement read.

Prof Olalekan Asikhia is a Professor of Management, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship in the Department of Business Administration and Marketing, School of Management, where he was former HOD and Acting Dean.

The Vice-Chancellor of Caleb University,  Prof Nosa Owens-Ibie,  described the appointment of Professor Asikhia, as “a recognition of his professional and academic track record,  and his contributions as a Gospel drama evangelist (as one of the pioneers of Mount Zion Films), which makes him a right fit in the learning and character mantra of Caleb University”.According to Prof Owens-Ibie,  Prof Daramola’s renewal of tenure is “an acknowledgement and appreciation of his contributions in the first two years as DVC”.
