Bullying has been an act plaguing schools for years across the world. A collective effort on the parts of parents and schools has been key to curbing this act.

Mr Paul Olubajo, the Principal of Avi-Cenna International School in an interview, shared how bullying cannot be wished away and how the school has been able to curtail bullying within its environment.

In his statement, he noted the influence of television and phones on some of the behaviours and traits exhibited by students in their schools with respect to bullying and arrogance.

He spoke saying that Avi-Cenna International School has zero tolerance for bullying, and has a culture of teaching its students to respect, tolerate and care for others. The school prides itself as a school that is family oriented where both senior and junior students interact freely as brothers and sisters.

The school frowns against intimidation and takes actions against the act by encouraging the students to speak up and notify the school authority of anyone who showcases the act so they can be helped, as a bully is seen as one crying out for help. This ensures that bullying is curtailed within the school.

He stated that where such cases are established, the school deals decisively with such behavior and has different forms of consequences to handle and treat such matters within the school.
