Bayero University Graduate Dies Just Days Before Physiotherapy Induction Ceremony

A graduate from Bayero University Kano (BUK) has lost his life in a road accident, just days before he was set to be inducted into the physiotherapy profession.

According to a report, the accident occurred on Tuesday, leaving friends, family, and colleagues in mourning as they grapple with the sudden loss of Abdurrazaq Olajide, a promising young professional.

The news was shared by Fakhruddeen Auwal Taheer, a former president of the National Association of Physiotherapy Students at BUK, who took to Facebook to express his sorrow.

“Inna lillahi wa inna alaihi raji’un. We lost him a week to their induction into the Physiotherapy Profession!!!” Taheer wrote, reflecting on the emotional weight of the moment. “I just came to realize the death of our good friend and also a junior colleague Abdurrazaq, who was involved in a road traffic accident today on his way back to Kano state.”

Taheer fondly remembered Olajide as a person of great character, stating, “Abdurrazaq is indeed a good person with a good heart. May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and make Jannatul Firausi be his final abode.”

Tributes have poured in from friends and colleagues, emphasizing the impact Olajide had during his seven-year academic journey at the College of Health. Senior Ameer noted, “Abdurrazaq graduated from BUK earlier this year after spending about 7 years in College of Health studying. Today, on his way back to Kano to attend his Induction and Oath-taking ceremony next week, he had an accident and passed away. Innalillahi wa Inna ilaihirajiun. Painful exit but, Allah knows best.”

Others shared their condolences and prayers for Olajide’s family, with Aminu A. Ibrahim stating, “Innalillahi wa inna ilaihir rajun. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and count him among the dwellers of Jannah. Ameen.” Kabiru Hamisu added, “Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un, may his gentle soul rest in Jannatul Firdaus.”
