Bandits Demand N50 Million Ransom for Abducted Medical Students in Enugu

Bandits who kidnapped twenty medical students have demanded a ransom of N50 million for the students’ release.

The students were taken hostage by the armed bandits while en route to a convention in Enugu State.

The abduction, which occurred two days ago, has led to a desperate plea for help.

One of the abducted students, Kingsley Aondona, took to social media platform X to share their harrowing situation.

In a post made at approximately 6:26 p.m. on Friday, Aondona revealed that the group has been deprived of food for the past two days.

His post raised concerns about whether he was able to communicate from captivity or if he had managed to access his phone in some other manner.

Aondona’s message included the account details of his fellow student, Pius Samson, indicating that the ransom could be sent to facilitate their release. The urgency of their situation is underscored by alarming threats from the bandits, who have stated that they will begin executing the students if the ransom is not paid.

“We were kidnapped on our way to Enugu for a convention @Nigerian_Doctor. They are requesting N50 million for 20 of us medical students. Please help us; we haven’t eaten for two days. 08163420157 – Pius that is who we are gathering the money,” Aondona wrote, adding a chilling warning from the captors: “They said they would start killing us tomorrow.”
